Geniuses at work
Not only do they descrate one of the most revered places in Iraq for sunni's and probably sunni Islam as well, but they also manage to kill few people while they are at it.
Advice: How about you cross the bridge near the mosque and storm the other weird looking mosque on the other side of the river. You would have truly won hearts and minds.
Sean: I really don't know the reason behind the raid. The Iraqi interim government and the US military usually have a list of reasons they wheel out to the public whenever they do something. It is up to you to believe or dig deeper.
In my opinion, they raided the mosque because it houses the Association of Muslim Scholars offices (if I'm not mistaken). AMS is powerful Sunni political body which has called for the boycotting of the election as a sign of protest to what is happening in Falluja. This call will be adhered to by a significant number of Iraqi Sunni’s, leaving the political process hanging in the balance.
Since the call for the boycott, the interim government with the aid of the US military has arrested one founder of the association and few members as well. It is nothing more than arm twisting, bullying, and intimidation tactics they are using to force AMS to change its mind. These kind of actions are actually strengthening AMS rather than weakening it.
Joe: If you don't like the source of this news, it is up to you to prove any different.
